

The Chinese Parrot is a 1926 mystery novel by Earl Derr Biggers and the second book in theCharlie Chan series. It follows the famous Chinese-Hawaiian detective Charlie Chan as he investigates a complex case involving murder deception and hidden identities. Charlie Chan travels from Honolulu to California to deliver a valuable string of pearls to a wealthy buyer. However things take a dark turn when a murder occurs at a remote ranch and Chan must use his keen intellect to unravel a web of lies secret identities and hidden motives. The story is notable for its Western setting a departure from the usual Hawaiian backdrop and its blend of classic detective elements with adventure. This book helped cement Charlie Chan as a literary icon leading to later novels and film adaptations.
