White Fang, published in 1906, is another of Jack London's celebrated works and serves as a companion piece to The Call of the Wild. While The Call of the Wild focuses on a domesticated dog’s return to the wild, White Fang tells the story of a wild wolfdog's journey towards domestication.
Set in the Yukon Territory during the Klondike Gold Rush, the novel follows White Fang, a wolfdog born in the wild. Unlike Buck, who starts as a domesticated pet, White Fang begins life in the wilderness and experiences the brutal realities of the natural world.
