While not a comprehensive account of all of African medicine's long history, this book serves as an introduction to a complex, and often misunderstood topic. Important concepts that Dr. Finch discusses in this work: ¿Medical traditions and principles originating in ancient Egypt and the Nile Valley that are connected to those in other parts of Africa. ¿Though there are different healing traditions that continue to flourish among the peoples of Africa, there are similarities among them. ¿African medicine is closely tied to religion. ¿African physician/priests practice in realms that modern science has yet to understand.
