Fran is a Jamaican girl who is always ridiculed and told what she can't do, because she has very big feet. She dreams of being a footballer, but is laughed at by friends when she joins her school's first girls' team. Her neighbour reads her speeches by Marcus Mosiah Garvey and she is inspired by his teaching on 'self-confidence'.
Fran is determined to show that she has the courage to do the things she loves and the confidence to fulfill her dreams, no matter how hard it seems. With 'I Can' as her motto, Fran shows that her big feet aren't a problem and when she makes up her mind, she can do anything with them.
