The Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie is a classic Hercule Poirot mystery first published in 1923.
Poirot and his friend Captain Hastings travel to France after receiving an urgent plea for help from Paul Renauld, a wealthy man who fears for his life. When they arrive, they discover Renauld has already been murdered and buried in a shallow grave near a golf course. The case grows complex with multiple suspects, including Renauld’s wife, his son, a mysterious stranger, and a glamorous woman from the past.
As Poirot investigates, he must unravel family secrets, mistaken identities, and hidden motives. Using his “little grey cells,” he pieces together the truth and exposes the real killer, proving once again the brilliance of logic and observation over mere chance.
It’s one of Christie’s early novels, showcasing Poirot’s sharp intellect and Hastings’ loyal, if sometimes bumbling, companionship.
